My Story

 My name is Kelly and I've been a fitness instructor since 2011. I'm a mom of 2 boys: Callan & Colton and we live in Boston where I was born and raised! I grew up dancing and it was my world! When I felt like it was time to hang up the jazz shoes, I felt like I was missing a piece of me. I wanted to find ways to keep dancing and entertaining people so when I found Zumba it was like all my prayers were answered! Over the years I slowly started to expand my reach through Group Exercise and eventually creating my own style of Dance Fitness, hence K-energy was born! 

 

People have always asked me how I have so much energy, and most days, I HAVE NO IDEA! Something about being with a group of people dancing and letting loose fills my tank and no matter how tired or lazy I feel, dancing perks me up. The endorphins you get from exercise are unmatched, mix that with a high energy class with amazing people and you feel like you can conquer anything! Then I go try to take a nap ;)

I love what I do and it makes me so happy to be able to share my passion with others. I have been blessed to create this amazing community of women that love to dance, sweat and laugh. We raise each other up, support one another and it feels like family! As a mom, I know how hard it is to do anything for yourself so when you take my classes I want you to leave feeling refreshed, confident and strong! I don't believe fitness should be serious; if its not fun, you won't stick with it!

More than Dance!

My hopes for you is that when taking my classes you look beyond it being "just a dance class" or just another workout. I want you to feel empowered and like you're part of something bigger. I want you to leave your insecurities at the door and allow yourself to be silly and free, because we might be about a lot of things but a perfect dancer is NOT one of them! I tell my peeps all the time... I don't care if you get one step or every step, if you're on the beat or off, if you go left when we go right (other than for safety issues!) I want you to feel like you just left a workout with a friend... think Sunday brunch with the girls but with a workout, and possibly Champs to follow! You can go anywhere or pay anyone to take a class, I want you to feel like you've joined a community! As long as you break a sweat and a smile, I feel like I've done my job.
